ASUU strike: FG authorizes no-work-no-pay on Lecturers

The Federal Government has coordinated Vice

Chancellors of the striking open

colleges and between varsity focuses, to

uphold no-work-no-pay rule on striking

Lecturers .

This is following the gridlocks that have

trailed endeavors, to end the continuous strike

by speakers over all Federal Government

possessed colleges in the nation.

This mandate was said to have been

conveyed to the colleges in an update

sent by the Nigerian Universities

Commission (NUC) through the University

Bad habit Chancellors.

The Memo which was marked by Director,

Research, Information and Technology, NUC,

Dr S.B Ramon-Yusuf, expressed that installment of

compensations from some other sources will be

seen as infringement of surviving tenets and

Government mandate.

It peruses in parts, “In perspective of the current

Mechanical activity by the Academic Staff

Association of Universities (ASUU), the government

government has coordinated that there will be

no installment of any type of pay rates and

stipends to the staff on strike in government

also, between varsity focuses

“Subsequently, I am to coordinate Vice-

Chancellors to apply the ‘No-work-no-pay’

“Be that as it may, Universities and between varsity

focuses are to pay rates and remittances to

Non-instructing staff. All Vice Chancellors and

Chiefs of focuses should take note of that the

compensations to staff on strike from whatever

wellspring of assets will be seen as infringement

of surviving tenets and order of the government

legislature of Nigeria”
